October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. One in four women experience loss through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant loss. I am one in four. Today many women and men are remembering their baby, niece, nephew, grandchild, or a friend’s child. Today I remeber my baby that would be 2 and half years old, my niece or nephew who would be 1 and a half, my older siblings, my many friends and fellow moms and dads who have experienced this.
My sweet friend Amber is the Chapter Leader of the Tears Foundation in the Texas Hill Country region. The TEARS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that seeks to compassionately lift a financial burden from families who have lost a baby by providing funds to assist with the cost of burial or cremation services.
Today her and her team hosted a Remembrance Gathering Rose Petal Ceremony. If you want to learn more about the foundation, or help support financially for burial or cremation services for babies in the Texas Hill Country area, please follow this link: http://www.thetearsfoundation.org/page.php?id=261
If you want to participate in the Wave of Light Ceremony in remembrance, light a candle from 7-8 tonight (your local time). 💜
