Repurposed Kitchen Cabinet

Hey guys!

This is my first post about the new house since we have moved. 75% of the house looks like a construction site and a storage unit. Moving and renovating is crazy but I cannot wait until it’s done.

Right now we’re in the process of renovating our kitchen. I have painted our cabinets and painted the countertops. Hopefully the kitchen will be done soon so I can show you how I did it.

In the process of painting the cabinets, I decided I wanted to take some of them down and put up shelves. Instead of throwing the cabinet out, I used it for storage in the living room.

I sanded it down with 80 medium sand paper. These cabinets are old and are covered in sticky gunk. After I sanded them, I wiped them down with water and a rag.

I used a foam brush to brush on the wood finish and used rags to wipe it down. I used Minwax espresso 273. It is my go-to stain color, I love it so much! This stain can get dark really fast.

After 30 seconds to a minute I wiped every section of the wood down with a rag. Before the stain dried I went over a few spots that I wanted to be a little darker than the rest to make it look more worn. I love how it turned out!

Head over to my Instagram to see where some of my decor is from. It will be tagged in the photo!
